Bounteous

Adobe AEM accelerator for clients of all shapes and sizes.

AEM came with it’s own base system of components, but they were hard for average consumers to understand and use effectively. How could we make our clients understand and use those components simply?

The Approach

Collaborate cross-departments to understand and create a customer-facing product design

Stakeholder interviews with developers, gap analysis for client needs and opportunities for the product in consult with UX and UI directors. Stress tested the components requested across UX & UI design team members to ensure usefulness and iterated on comprehensibility. Mentored designers using activate for their products.

Living style guides and component starter kits

For pitching to clients, I delivered rapidly iterations of the Demo Sites and Demo Living Style Guides using the company's brand guidelines to show how quickly they could be delivered. All new projects then had the demo sites to communicate what components were available and allowed us to see where the content gaps existed so that we could create custom solutions where necessary.

For internal work, Activate was challenging for designers to pick up so I worked with directors iteratively on internal written documentation to help designers self-serve and starter toolkits built in sketch and figma to enable rapid prototyping and enhancements.

30+ known client use cases & ongoing updates

Bounteous sold Activate to many clients across multiple industries including, but not limited to NFL, Princess Cruise Lines, Tenneco, and Change Healthcare. Along the way, I consulted with client design teams to help get them up to speed with working within a design system within AEM.

On smaller projects, I consulted with designers working in house for our client on ways to speed up development work flows. This included consolidating custom solutions for a strategic design/development build. This also included brainstorming more impactful solutions if they were available to them to use.

On bigger projects, I designed custom solutions for the component based system and created new opportunities for components based on the clients specific content needs, usually in tandem with other UX designers, UI designers, and Content Strategists.
